Dr. Hudson-Dyson is a researcher/physician whose work includes secondary complications of wheelchair users. As a wheelchair user, he is able to advise the RERC from many perspectives.

David Ellis, PhD
President and Managing Partner, EGL Holdings, Inc. (venture capital group)

Mr Ellis brings a unique perspective of a wheelchair user in the private sector. His work with business entities will bring a real world sense of business’ perceptions concerning wheeled mobility users and the barriers to participation they face.

Andy Fleming
President, US Disabled Athletes Fund

As a user and Paralympic organizer, he regularly interacts with wheelchair users while working on public policy to insure accessibility and opportunities for all.

Geoff Fernie, PhD
VP Research, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute

Geoff is the leader of the Mobility Team of the Ontario Rehabilitation Technology Consortium. In this role, he collaborates closely with a world-leading network of rehabilitation engineers developing assistive technology for all ages and disabilities.

James Krause, PhD
Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Medical University of South Carolina

In addition to Dr. Krause’s experiences in research and academia, he will offer the RERC expertise in the areas of public health and epidemiology.

Michele Lange, OTR, ATP
Access to Independence

Ms Lange as over 15 years of experience offering seating and mobility services to young wheelchair users. In addition, she serves in leadership roles within AOTA and RESNA.

Marcia Nusgart, MPh
Principal, Nusgart Consulting and Executive Director, Coalition of Seating and Positioning Manufacturers

Ms Nusgart has excellent relationships with and access to wheelchair and seating manufacturers, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carriers.

James Rimmer, PhD
Professor, Department of Disability & Human Development, University of Illinois- Chicago;
Director, National Center on Physical Activity and Disability and RecTech RERC


Dr. Rimmer’s work centers on activity and participation of persons with disabilities, which is intimately related to the objectives of the RERC.
