D4b. Development of a Training Module to Improve Outdoor Mobility
Project Director: Jon A. Sanford, M.Arch.
Co-Investigators: Jonathan Shaw, MS, IMAGINE Lab; Chris Maurer, MSPT, ATP, Shepherd
Schedule: Year 5 (12 months)
Specific Aims
Based on findings from R3b, which identified barriers that negatively impact participation, and R4b, which determined the efficacy of
visualization training, this project will develop generic visualization training modules for teaching outdoor mobility to new wheelchair
users. While we don't expect visualization training to replace standard care practices, it can enhance these practices and enable
therapists to provide a more training in the same amount of time.
